... is a world-renowned healer, best-selling authoress and one of the pioneers of Reiki in western culture. Her books have sold around 400,000 copies worldwide. Her six best-selling books have been translated into all the major world languages.
Tanmaya began practicing Reiki in 1983, and over the past 32 years has worked throughout Europe, America, Japan, India and Australia. She shares her vision of a better world through her work as a spiritual teacher, healer and author. She spends her time between Germany and England and still travels widely today, giving Reiki trainings, seminars, lectures, events and healing holiday retreats.
Since founding the School of Usui Reiki in England in 1995, Tanmaya has developed her own healing programmes, working to bring traditional Reiki into a 21st century context. Her international healing programmes consist of: “Healing from Head to Heart” and “Healing through Touch and Intimacy”.
Tanmaya originally trained as a Reiki Master, as well as in a wide variety of therapeutic and holistic healing methods, which form an intimate part of her work. Her trainings and seminars use meditation, reflecting her understanding and experience of the human condition.
“We are here to heal, and to find that place within us, that has always been whole and healthy. On the soul level, we have arrived and come home. My approach to healing reveals the truth of this at an experiential level to anyone being open and willing to take part. The healing work invites people into presence, self-love and compassion, nourishing body, mind and soul.
The programmes I run internationally support participants in finding this place of wellbeing in the everyday, and deepening that inner connection as their lives unfolds.”
Tanmaya's lineage goes directly back to the source of Reiki. She trained with one of the few Masters initiated by Hawayo Takata, who introduced Reiki to the Western World.
