This healing meditation helps you to reconnect with your heart again, and to become more in touch with your innermost feelings.
You can do this meditation any time. However you can also do it at times when feeling restless or not in touch with yourself for some reason. You can do this meditation either sitting or lying down. Allow between ten and fifteen minutes to do it.
1. Take a few deep, relaxing breaths, and, if you sense tension or heaviness in the heart, try sighing to gain relief. Your hands can rest on your upper legs.
2. Lay both hands on your heart (heart chakra) in the middle of the chest. Connect with your heart and continue to sigh releasing any pressure from the heart. – See image above. – Do this for 2-5 minutes.
3. Now start talking to your own heart, as if it were an old friend. You can ask questions, such as: “How are you?” and “Can I do something for you?”
Wait and listen; give your heart space to answer. If feelings come up just allow them to be there. There’s no need to do anything with them.
4. After a few moments, say – either silently or out loud – “I have patience, love and understanding for myself”. Repeat this a few times and notice if it makes you more accepting and loving of yourself.
At the end of your meditation slowly come back by moving and stretching your body gently.
